You’ll find plenty of convenient, healthy and tasty menu options at the Dining Commons. Virginia Flats on the lower level, also offers artisan flatbreads, chicken wings and grilled subs or sandwiches for a quick meal on the go.

With 68,000 square feet over six floors, the library is a beautiful, inviting place to study and gather, with a special collections area, Smart Group classrooms, 12 group study rooms, computers, WiFi, and a 24-hour study space. Grab a snack or your favorite Starbucks order at the Books & Brew café.

Pursue physical health and fitness.

Take a group fitness class, work out with top-of-the-line equipment or grab a healthy snack from the café. Wellness passes are free for students and employees and are also available for alumni and community members.

The first official building of the College, Crockett Hall is home to the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Engagement, Career Planning & Discovery, and the Cashier’s Office.

Take learning to the next level at the Science Center.

The modern, state-of-the-art Science Center features laboratories, classrooms and office space to encourage learning, collaboration and discovery. The Center’s renovation also achieved LEED Platinum certification, the highest endorsement for environmentally friendly construction.

Home to the Department of Visual & Performing Arts, the Gilliam Center hosts events, performances and exhibitions that showcase student talent and encourage budding artistic careers.

David J. Prior Convocation Center

Attend a concert, watch a game or celebrate commencement.

The 78,000 square-foot multi-purpose facility houses the Bookstore retail shop, concession stands and an outdoor patio. The Prior Center can seat up to 3,600 people and hosts a wide variety of performances, competitions and conventions.

Carl Smith Stadium

Cheer on the Highland Cavaliers with the crowd.

Attend a game and celebrate your Cavalier spirit! Opened with a $5 million gift from UVA alumnus Carl Smith, the stadium continues to add new features and facilities and welcome fans from campus and the surrounding community.

Humphreys Tennis Complex

Play or attend a tennis match.

With six tennis courts on three different levels, you can enjoy watching or play a match yourself at the Jim and Betty Humphreys Tennis Complex, which welcomes fans and Highland Cavalier tennis players alike.

Burchell Stallard Baseball Field

Have a ball on the baseball field.

Built and opened in 2004, the top-notch field is home to the Highland Cavalier baseball team. Stallard Field's grass was replaced with a Field Turf Double Play Natural surface in Spring 2024. Located directly in front of Greear Gymnasium, the facility is surrounded by a walking track with Darden Drive only a long home run away.

Cavalier Softball Field

Catch a softball game.

Located diagonally behind Greear Gymnasium, the Cavalier Softball Field opened in 2005 and features a press box, three permanent seating sections and full dugouts. The field was updated in 2024 with a Field Turf Triple Threat surface and expansion of the playing area. Come out for a game and cheer the Highland Cavaliers to victory.
